You may have received a letter from a group opposing me and supporting my opponent. I want you to see what they are illegally spending their money on in attacking me.
Yes, this offensive image is up on billboards across our county.
Here is what the letter does not tell you:
Eric Batton, the vice-president of the group paying for this offensive image, and Bryan Pyne, the man who has loaned $141,000 to my opponent’s campaign are business partners with my opponent.
The group that sent you this letter and that is paying for those billboards is a non-profit corporation. Their spending on this image is a 3rd degree felony under Texas law. The District Attorney has received complaints about this, and we assume that it is under investigation.
Lastly, if you follow the money it leads to the owner of Treasures strip club, Ali Davari. He gave $25,000 to this organization, they happily accepted and they turned the money over to my opponent. You are probably aware that Davari’s strip clubs have been the subject of numerous investigations here in Harris County and in Las Vegas. Why would a group supposedly representing deputies and a candidate for Sheriff accept this kind of support?
The answer is simple: they will do anything and everything to defeat me – even if it means breaking the law. We cannot let that happen. I need your help right now. Already, they have spent another $30,000 on illegal advertising that we have to counter.
I need you to do two things: Make a contribution and volunteer to get our vote out.
We have a week from today to fight back against these untrue and illegal attacks funded by questionable individuals involved in strip clubs. Your contribution and your work to get our supporters out is crucial right now.
Our opponent is relying on financial support from a strip club owner that is destroying neighborhoods and families, and those good ole boys that want to take the Sheriff’s office back to the corrupt ways of the previous years. Don’t let that happen! Make a Contribution Right Now and Sign Up to Volunteer for the final days of the campaign. Then, tell everyone you know, Republican or Democrat, how important it is to go down the ballot to vote for me.
We can win this race, but I need your help right now. Please make a contribution or sign up to volunteer right now.
